One point made when he was convicted was that he had shown no remorse at all. The closest he got was in admitting that some of the social media comments he published, laying the blame on the victim, were unwise.

The implication seems to be that he still doesn't believe that he's done anything wrong, and the accident was entirely the fault of the pedestrian. To me that is something that needs to be addressed when he is sentenced. If he is to be allowed back into society, riding bikes around our streets, he needs to learn that it is his responsibility to brake in order to reduce the risk of an accident when someone does something unexpected in front of him. I don't get the feeling that he has learned that lesson at all, based on what has been published in the media (and accepting that may not be the whole story).
