3k is for sure reasonable. Just checked on british council, IELTS costs you 1930 and will be increasing in JUL2017. It also includes a testing fee with the flight school which it claims to be the first round.

I think the problem to all is that the timing for the payment. Some think its not worth at all, why am I paying for this uncertainty, I'm not even guaranteed for an interview or offer? why should I?

I will put it in this way. We all will be confident and well prepared before hitting the apply button, why 3k stops you from acheiving your dream.

Its like its just 3k.
