Second attempt at this, after having had another look at the papers, most especially the Sun...
They ( and the Mail) say it was a 777-300...but the gear pictures in the Sun are certainly not of a 777-300 Main gear...Then again it seems from both articles that any file picture of any type in any livery will do to pad out the report.
As for the pilot being "in shock".......I doubt it.....
