There's an old saying hereabouts: "Superior doesn't give up her dead." Marathon is on the north shore where an average water temp of just 4c means bodies don't decompose, so the gases of decomposition don't bring them back up to the surface ('floaters'.)
One of our S&R techs did a dive on a ship that went down some 60+ years ago last Summer. The bodies were still there - they looked just like waxworks apparently.
Still. There's one hell of a story in there somewhere, folks.
