I think you miss the point plhought. No one is suggesting the Air Canada pilot should have bought the pizza, the ground staff could have thought a little further than whether the airport cafe was open and ordered the pizza on behalf of Air Canada and paid from the station petty cash float.
Well done to the Westjet Captain for putting customer care first, which is what Air Canada should have done.
