Looks very much like the flight path of the B-52H at Fairchild AFB 24 June 1994.
I thought precisely the same thing when I watched the Mallard go in.
However, I would hazard a guess, in this case, it wasn't the same as the carelessness of a major-risk taker like Holland at work - I would guess Peter Lynch took his attention off the airspeed for a few seconds too long, as he tried to work out the boundaries of the box he'd been given to operate in. At the height he was at, there's no room for error when doing a tight turn.
