22/04 makes a fair point about Jota. On the other hand that market segment can be quite spasmodic and ultimately limited in terms of expansion potential. One can see the attraction of developing an alternative revenue stream that may be lower margin but is more predictable .

Certainly Jota seem headed for expansion. Two months ago they announced their intention to seek two or more 146 freighters and a third passenger aircraft. Last summer they moved into one bay of the former ATC Lasham hangar at SEN with the intention of housing their own spares holding and carrying out their own Part 145 line maintenance.

I am not privy to the rumours that others have mentioned so I have no idea as to whether they are in the frame for the Stobart/Flybe work. There would be an obvious synergy for Stobart to use the services of a SEN-based operator but no doubt only if the price was right for both parties
