He had nearly a full page write up in the Daily Mail. I don't know what he was paid for that but maybe enough to get parts and an engineer flown out to fix the aircraft?
I can understand his desire to complete the trip in that aircraft as he started in the aircraft and probably has a sentimental attachment to it
I just hope he invests in a reliable GPS unit gets himself rested and sorted in the period it takes to restore the aircraft and determines to take a different approach to the next legs
