How can he take advice on his very complicated life, from many people who have not taken the time to understand exceptional circumstances to be able to advise him on the bigger issues?
The advice is not on his very complicated life, the advice is very simply, "cut your losses, and go home". It's qualified advice from some experienced touring pilots to another pilot, to remind him, that a 'plane is not worth your life.

If Mr. Kirk has other complicating factors beyond crashing his plane and being unwell in an unwelcoming area in Africa, that's outside the scope of the advice (but probably does not change it anyway).

Because he is genuinely not safe in the UK.
Hmmm, a very different topic then. If he chooses to leave the UK for his safety, there are about every better ways to do it than to pay to participate in an expensive air rally in a modest plane, and allow circumstances to degenerate to the point when the flying can no longer be done safely, and crash in a very unwelcoming part of the world!

Muddling otherwise unrelated circumstances does not cause them to suddenly relate well to each other!
