It's a story right up William Langewiesche's alley. He did a couple of comprehensive pieces for Vanity Fair about both
AF447 and the
Gol/Legacy mid-air. He has extensive ties to Brazil, and I suppose it's only a matter of time before the real extent of this mess is exposed in VF.
By the way, according to the BBC,
LaMia's AOC has been suspended. It seems pointless since they don't seem to have any operational capability left, but perhaps this is a precursor to more severe legal action. In any case, a few days late, 71 lives short.
