Edited to add: As far as I can gather the Army Act 1955 has been superseded by the Armed Forces Act 2006 and perhaps numerous amendments. It is late now but I cannot see any reference in the new Act to the illegalities of wearing medals, badges, decorations. It must be in there somewhere as this guy
