No doubt that is the likely reason and why they chose this route although the BHX schedule is not thin on Sunday mornings, 11 aircraft needed by 11am with 11 based and I can see from FR24 that Q400's are operating on 175 flights once again, how ironic is that.

Also CDG - Biarritz is a 170 not leaving much room for re-routes but as you say they would get in by 17.45 although still 5 hours adrift but an option at least and one I would certainly take if offered.

Outbound now showing cancelled on the flybe website and inbound delayed??? - EDIT The inbound and possibly outbound pax were on the Rennes. One of the 175's operated a triangle - BHX - Rennes - Biarritz - BHX and I suppose any overflow went via CDG
