Rather strange that Jet2 has decided against adding either of these new destinations from Glasgow. Are there any plans to further expand Glasgow's route offering by Jet2?
There are 6 based aircraft at Glasgow at present and seems the same for 2017 Summer. Judging from the present summer 2017 pogramme of flights, all the 6 based aircraft are required during 6 days of the week during high season and only on Tuesdays do they only require 5 aircraft. So technically on Tuesdays it could be possible to programme two more destinations but aircraft require maintaneance. So it could be that the Tuesday spare capacity has been built in deliberately in order to allow for any extensive maintenance that may be required on any of the based aircraft at any given moment.

There has been healthy expansion at Glasgow for Summer 2017 and even more so for Winter 2016/2017. Any further big expansion of the flight programme for Glasgow for Summer 2017 would necessarily entail increasing the based aircraft there to 7 from the present 6. Bearing in mind of course that there are 5 JET2 aircraft there at the moment plus a B738 from Air Europa on lease for Summer 2017 to make up the total of 6. It is doubtful that there would be a clear cut business opportunity, at this stage, to increase the 2017 Summer flying programme to keep 7 aircraft busy. On the other hand, if leasing aircraft for the 2017 summer high season is economical, then it could happen if the numbers add up to give a profit.
