Back in the time of RAFG when the customs used to give confiscated ciggies out to the military and they were handed out for free at unit level, those of us who smoked would work our way through the B&H etc, then struggle through the unfiltered, the tobacco and finally the Menthol ( that was all that was left).... even the hardened smokers (then) amongst us would prefer to buy our own than smoke those freebies... it was like sucking on a burning polo mint.
I quit the RAF and on New Years eve during my resettlement, I went from 20 plus to nil overnight, that was 89 and I have never picked one up since... the thought of a Menthol cigarette still makes me feel queasy and gag..
