He just used a light plane on himself instead of a gun or some other means. Tragic as it is, this is an old fashioned suicide and sadly it happens everyday around the globe. Pilots are not immune, nor are doctors or anyone else. He never had any intentions to take any life but his own, cleared to fly or otherwise.

The Germanwings guy was a sick monster. Fortunately monsters like that come once in a blue moon in this profession.

In the time you took to read the last two posts, 2 people killed themselves. 3000 per day. I'm sure the rate among airline pilots is lower than the average per capita.
