I think Norwegian would undermine the embryonic Thomas Cook long-haul programme.
They could potentially destroy it. Thomas Cook Airlines behind the scenes is best described as chaotic. They're not a a loco like easyJet and moving away from package tours like Thomson. They're sandwiched in a niche space and branching out into new markets. The likeliehood is Norwegain sit backand watch them to do the legwork to prove this works then come in later to an established market and do it better, stealing share and groth from the incumbent. DU can offer an aeroplane that is a generation more fuel efficient and going forward a feed from short haul, this is where they're at now, at Gatters.
What is fair to say I think is that Norwegian has the potential to do
way more at MAN in this market than TCX could ever accomplish, they have an enromous economy of scale and a very aggresive growth plan. All those shiny B789s have to go somewhere.
