Over the last 11 Winters here in my manor, we have always had our first big dump of snow in early Dec. Dump as in 25-50cms that remains until mid-April. Daytime highs should now be between -5 to -10.
Current temps all month so far have been highs of +5, any snow that came has long since melted and none is forecast before Dec 17. So, yes, the start of this Winter has been unusually mild: at least a once-in-a-decade event.
Do I believe it is "climate change"? Well, only if El Nino is climate change and not a natural variation phenomenon. My bet BTW remains on the latter.
Also 2013/14 was the COLDEST Winter here ON RECORD. Feb 2015 was the COLDEST month ON RECORD. It was amusing how all the local fluffies immediately changed their wail-of-choice from 'Global Warming' to 'Climate Change'. Bless 'em!
I'm just happy to pocket the snow-clearing savings and lower winter heating costs. If this is climate change, BRING IT
ON!!!
