Maybe of interest to you, on 19th May 73 Bev and I flew Barry's DH82a, SSI, Mangalore - Benalla - Wodonga (Joe Drage's strip) and partook in a meeting that afternoon, along with a small group, which resulted in the establishment of the Antique Aeroplane Association.
Due to incorrect info being forwarded to DOT a full SAR was launched that resulted in my ATPL being pulled by Vic/Tas region.
I was signing on for a tour next Monday when I found a letter in my pigeonhole from Ken McEntee cancelling my licence.
That caused a stir in Ansett while they found another to take my flight.
At that time Bev was running the College of Knowledge in Melbourne and the adjacent offices on her floor housed lawyers.
It didn't take long with them to sort out my situation and, along with my appointed solicitor, I met with two DOT officious - Ken McEntee and his superior, Fred Fox about 1000hrs.
While neither could justify the action taken against me they refused to
re-instate my licence.
By midday my solicitor had served those individuals with personal writs which claimed $7.2m in damages. (That was the lawyers assessment of my loss of future earnings).
