Yes Manchester has the terminal capacity to handle way more than it currently does but what about its current struggling and limited aircraft movements per hour? You'd just be back to square 1 with airlines refusing to pay silly money for slots like at LHR for example. I truly believe that slot issues at LHR with BA are the reason BA have started a route at LBA. Pretty much not a profitable route but more or less to get the aircraft out of LHR avoiding paying slot periods (£X,000,000's) which probably costs more than flying the aircraft to LBA and back at stupid/illogical times with a low load factor/pax on board. Now that wouldn't suprise me if anything but... that's good and clever business method for you. I'm sorry but if I wanted to go to London from Leeds i'd take the East Coast rail service which runs every 20 minutes to Kings Cross and I think anybody else would. Sorry to go off topic but that route they're running just really makes me wonder.
