DTVAirport

Airports go for £1 these days, so taking that into consideration I'd say Peel paid a fortune!
Apples & Pears - in isolation this has no relevance whatsoever.

As to Peels master plan, what gives this credibility?, & even if it does stand up to scrutiny then there's no guarantee that in being "selective" then Peel will be able to deliver a completely different agenda.
In having complete control over events as already seen i.e. volume of traffic at DTV, then there is scope for Peel to deliver virtually any scenario "within the master plan".
And you go on about conspiracy theorists, Peel themselves are the ones creating an environment for them to thrive !
At the end of the day irrespective as to the price paid, it is under written many times over, by the value of the land acquired that's fact !

Skyman: Hear Hear and well said!

DTVA will be what determines its future by Peel and their interests only.

Now is the time to move on... Stop wasting money on backing a lost cause to re-create an Airport which is lost. All legal challenges should be made against Peel and maximum opposition to planned alternative use of the land.

Councils should now maximise the potential of a large successful airport in Newcastle with FAST & Comfortable transport by rail & coach from Tees Valley area, with a targeted maximum journey time of 50 mins from Teeside catchment area (Same as Central London to Heathrow via Tube) & maximum public fares set at a £7 zone ticket.

Only then will the Whole North East Region be effective as Greater Manchester and attract the routes and inward investment as laid out by Lord Adonis in his recent report.
