CWL CEO to stand down
I think that losing someone of Jon Horne's calibre can never be seen as good news, although the airport company chairman wants to use him as an adviser in the future.
His departure seems to have come out of the blue and at a time when the airport's fortunes were gradually being turned around. Naturally there will be speculation as to reasons and his comment that “There is still much work to be done, but I have agreed with the Chairman that a new perspective will be beneficial for the next stage of development and as such I have concluded my executive involvement” can be interpreted in a number of ways.
The interim managing director has a distinguished aviation record, mainly in the Royal Air Force, and I'm not sure that she has ever been number one at a civil airport but everyone with the interests of CWL at heart will obviously wish her well.
