Do the numbers matter?
Q is in a very deep hole and most employees would be open to embrace constructive change that would save the business from losing 1 bill this year and thus jeopardising the jobs of all employees.
If all pilots took a 30% pay cut overnight, it would save a wad of dollars but would it save the terminal decline of the airline under the current strategy? I'm confident it would not.
Big picture stuff, specifically pilots wages are not the crux of the problem here.
