He was part of the problem, because, like Byron and Toller before him, McCormick wasn’t qualified to do the job. (Byron had
slightly more government regulatory experience, so did a
slightly less worse job than Toller and McCormick.)
CASA isn’t an airline or a fighter squadron. CASA is a regulatory authority.
While ever the government and industry continues to believe that the primary qualification for the CASA DAS is aeronautical experience, the CEO-driven part of the problem will continue.
