I assume you are enquiring about DEC spots?
Otherwise, it is not a big deal for guys coming of Dash 8s/ emb120s if you are speculating about FO positions.
I know of quite a few folk who have gone straight from the LHS of Dash 8s to the LHS of jets. And by jets I mean E170, B737-8, BAe146 with zero previous jet time. It all depends on the level of experience of the individual and the quality of the training.
