I've seen it a few times, well not R44 but R22.
might be cheaper to transport it like that instead of flying it to the new owner.
or might be a registration thing..?
I know about a german guy (close to berlin) who came to London by car and drove back to berlin with the R22 on a trailer.
So there must be a good reason why people do that.
