Load Toad:
Your photo 023 - The Curtiss P-6E Hawk - in that livery (the snow owl insignia) is the prettiest biplane ever built. It was rebuilt from a wreck 50 years ago by students at Purdue University under the direction of Prof. Ernest R. Blatchley - I know him well. He intended to make it airworthy, but that would have meant replacing the lower longerons (steel tubing) in the fuselage, and there wasn't the budget for that. The engine is in excellent condition, although missing the seals and gaskets needed to make it runnable.
