Dannyboy, for exactly the reason you've just said. A Monarch aircraft with 214 seats is a better use of a slot than an Easy aircraft with 149 seats (for example). If the only way the airport can grow pax is by better use of slots then this is a good reason for them to offer something given the retail revenue that they earn from each pax using the airport in addition to the per pax charge levied on the airlines.
