Just for interest.
Monarch announced that it was to wet-lease two B737-300s from Aurela and Small Planet Airlines as well as two B737-400s from Air Explore and Air Italy from the end of July to be able to offer additional flights during the peak leisure travel season in the UK.
Unfortunately none of this additional capacity is coming Luton's way...

When BA announced it's intention to shut down BMI Baby, with the immediate withdrawal of some routes and others in September. Monarch stepped in to fill these gaps at Birmingham and East Mids, as their immediate fleet is already pretty maxed out and getting hold of good quality A320/321's at short notice is almost impossible, they have decided to wet lease these aircraft to cover the routes.

From what understand all the 737's will be based at Birmingham and East Midlands. Passengers flying these new routes will more or less just be flying Monarch by name, and the above airlines will be operating their own crew and aircraft.

This is only meant to be short term measure and the airline should have obtained Airbus's for next season.
