Just to add my story. 2 months application to interview. Tech exam, interview and 787 sim all on same day. Simple LHR takeoff, headings and altitudes. Join a bearing from NDB, join the 010 radial from LON. Approach to ga with cloud base 900'. Downwind APU fire, memory drills by PM after you call for them. Vectors ILS 27R land, evacuation. Didn't actually complete drill, just asking for checklist was enough. Handshake and back to hotel for beer!
4 weeks later. Passed selection. Another 4-6 weeks for offer, start date and fleet. Then between 1-6 months depending on your notice period.
That's the story so far. Looking forward to a new adventure!
Finding schools will be the biggest problem I think. Anyone care to recommend any British curriculum or IB schools that are good and have space?
