'donate your old clobber to charity' bags
Begging bags, as I refer to them, go straight into the waste bin.

I'm always very suspicious of the white vans, usually unmarked or with a suspiciously home-made looking A4 size label sellotaped to the side, that come cruising round on days when such bags are due to be collected.

On the rare occasions that I have any old clothes that I have finished with and which are fit for anything else than cleaning rags, I'll put them in one of the marked collection boxes in the car park at the local supermarket on the basis that they are more likely to reach the appropriate charity.
