You are ofcourse, asking very timely questions. There is however, one union available to all pilots in Norway, NF. NF is part of ECA and IFALPA and is working long term to improve conditions for and look after the interests of its pilots - not just in Norway but across the industry.
One union, consisting of the the former BU body, decided to withdraw from NF and the other union being the DY pilots, never joined.
You are free to speculate why they acted this way. I say, you reap what you sow. Just look at the FOs (former BU) and their career opportunities and your own analysis of DY.
