So you want to live in Australia and pay 15% tax. Or do you want to pay the same tax as everybody else who lives in Australia and has a job that takes them constantly away from Australia? I'm confused.
That statement/question trolls the depths of uninformed comment I'm used to seeing in the SCMP from that clown S.P.
The issue here is double taxation. The based pilots are happy to pay Australian tax, in fact, that was the way the onshore was supposed to be set up. Their gripe is that in addition to their Aus tax burden, the HKIRD now wants 15% as well. Hence their displeasure at the basings office and the way that the whole onshore process has been completely botched.
