One of the questions asked in the questionaire before you get to the actual application (yes, I know, these things seem to get longer and longer, I´m sure it´s to put people off filling them in) asks if you would be able to convert the license to a UK issued one if you don´t have one, so I think as long as you have a JAA license, you´d be fine.
