Wizzair to discontinue Zagreb Service
This is actually a couple of weeks old now, but sure I havn't or anyone else mentioned on here, but seems Wizzair are ending the three times weekly service between Luton and Zagreb...
They have been operating this route for about 4 or 5 years now and seems strange to be discontinuing it now...
It was one of those odd ball routes for the airline that was operated from Luton, but not flown from any of their other bases so required them to fly a W route!
I suppose now they are not the exclusive low cost carrier on the Zagreb to London route with easyJet starting up the route from LGW, this will bite into the possibly fragile loads, that could only sustain a 3x weekly service. Wizzair pulled out of Ljubljana in Slovenia a few years ago, when easyJet started flying this route.
Also the airline will soon be flying to Belgrade from Luton and it could be possible a number of users of the service have travelled by land from Serbia to Zagreb to use this route and will now be able to fly from Belgrade which has always been very expensive to fly from in the past, with the lack of a LCC to London.
