Whilst I appreciate (at least I hope I do) the impact on individuals, the point I was trying to make was that in terms of the graphic headlines of "JOB LOSSES AT BAE DUE TO SDSR" etc, some (i.e. the Woodford jobs) of those jobs would have been lost anyway fairly soon - all that has changed as a result of the SDSR is the timing..
Some of the "managed withdraw" at Woodford had also already started...
None of which takes away the impact of unexpected BAE job losses within the MRA4 (Warton) and Harrier support worlds. I was merely trying to offer some perspective to the headlines...
