A Shell contractor has been killed in an attack on a convoy:

Egyptian national killed in southern Nigeria: police
(AFP) – 2 days ago
LAGOS — Unknown gunmen have killed an Egyptian national on a notorious highway near southern Nigeria's oil hub of Port Harcourt, police said Thursday.

"The man, an Egyptian, was killed on the Aba-Port Harcourt road yesterday. But we still don't have any detail on the circumstances of his death," Abia State police spokesman Geofrey Ogbonna told AFP.

A security source said on condition of anonymity that the Egyptian believed to be working for a Shell contractor appeared to have been hit by a stray bullet from armed robbers who operate in the area.

Egyptian embassy officials in Nigeria were not immediately available for comment.

The Aba-Port Harcourt highway is notorious for robberies and kidnappings of expatriates, mostly oil workers, by criminal gangs seeking ransom money. Most hostages are released after payment of ransom.
Port Harcourt is located in the restive Niger Delta region, the heart of one of the world's largest oil industries.
Reteurs have reported that a:

...Shell executive had been invited for questioning in relation to a separate $240 million case settled by the oil major and the Swiss logistics firm Panalpina in the United States earlier this month, officials said.

"We have invited the MDs (managing directors) of Shell and Halliburton as part of investigations in two separate bribery cases," EFCC spokesman Femi Babafemi said.

"The $240 million Shell bribery issue has been dealt with in the U.S. and we are looking at the Nigeria end of things."
I'm sure SM would claim both as 'successes'

Any news from Caverton? I hear they are recruiting a lot of local Co-Pilots.

Is it true Chevron Nigeria are moving their fixed wing work from Aero?
