I don't think EK has any preference of whom you are banking with. Lloyds is present in DXB. It's just that among the local crowd HSBC has the best reputation by a slim margin. You will find out however that the banking system in the UAE cannot offer the same kind of products you are used to, because of Sharia law constraints.
