Airbus A380, immatriculé VH-OQA


Peu après son décollage de l'aéroport de Singapour dans la matinée du 4 novembre 2010, l'Airbus A380, immatriculé VH-OQA, a subi une avarie sur un de ses moteurs. L'avion a fait demi-tour et s'est reposé à l'aéroport de Singapour.

L'A380, exploité par la compagnie australienne Qantas, assurait la liaison Singapour-Sidney.

L'Australian Transport Safety Bureau, ATSB, homologue australien du BEA, est chargé de diriger l'enquête de sécurité. Toute information sur cette enquête relève de sa responsabilité.

Conformément aux dispositions internationales, l'ATSB a notifié le BEA de cet incident.

Un enquêteur du BEA accompagné d'experts d'Airbus est en route pour Singapour où se trouve l'avion.

Qantas Airbus A380 inflight engine shut down

The ATSB is investigating reports of an incident involving a Qantas aircraft near Singapore.

Qantas has advised that flight QF32 has landed safely in Singapore having returned with the aircraft's No. 2 engine shut down. There are no reports of injury at this stage.

The ATSB is liaising with its Indonesian and Singaporean counterparts to coordinate investigation activities. The ATSB is assembling an investigation team that will depart for Singapore as soon as possible.

Update: 4:30pm - 4 Nov 2010

The ATSB is investigating the incident involving Airbus A380 aircraft operating as flight QF32 near Singapore today and is dispatching a team of four investigators to Singapore tonight. The ATSB is already working closely with its Indonesian and Singaporean colleagues and anticipates commencing its examination of the aircraft tomorrow, Friday 5 November.

Further investigation updates from on-site will be promulgated as they come to hand.

Update: 5:55pm - 4 Nov 2010

The ATSB has confirmed, following consultation with Singaporean and Indonesian officials that the ATSB will lead the investigation into the incident. Singaporean and Indonesian investigation officials can expect to be invited to be involved in the ATSB investigation in accordance with international protocols.

Indonesian representatives are currently supervising the collection and preservation of physical evidence on Indonesian territory. The ATSB has quarantined a number of aircraft components for later technical examination.

A team of four ATSB investigators are expected to arrive in Singapore early Friday, 5 November.
