Interesting, some people in Shell are saying that Bristow lost the contract because of people, not politics and that it may have been a different result if Aero had also tendered. Stories are starting to come up now of a culture where the golf course is more important than the flight line, but even more a heavy drinking culture in Warri, with stories of doors being kicked in, fights between pilots, pilots going off sick or just failing to turn up in the morning because they were still in the bar
Some people were moved off the contract, but as usual it was probably a case of too little, too late. It'll be kinda interesting to see who gets shipped out now that it's finishing. Depends if Bristow is even willing to admit that it's not necessarily a case of another company winning the contract, but them losing it. The same probably won't happen to the new guys on the block because they obviously have better connections to Shell than Bristow.
I'm ordering in some Danish pastries and waiting for the reply to my CV.
