Would be interested to know what time "your" passengers arrived.
There is a balance to be struck - get the runway open and the aircraft can land however taxiways & stands will not yet be fully cleared. This was the course taken last night. Alternatively remain shut for another hour whilst you remove all traces of snow, potentially see further diverts and those that have diverted night stop away with all the associated disruption to passengers that entails. Neither option is ideal - whichever one is followed someone will say your wrong - and safety must be the priority always. As for snow covered steps - that one is down to the handling agents not the airport management.
