I passed second time and I've no doubt it ticks the motivation box.
Be ready for questions along the lines of "Why do you thin think you failed last time, why will it be different this time, what have you been doing during the 12 month wait to prepare etc etc"
There are plenty of other people around who failed once or twice. When you get to the college it makes no difference at all how many attempts you had.
