Let's face it, if Newcastle can justify twice daily flights to Belgium and Denmark and three or four to the Irish Republic, Norway, France and the Netherlands, then three or four flights a week to Cologne, Berlin or Munich are feasible and economically viable.
Newcastle seems to have a reputation amongst the lo-cos as a bucket and spade airport which means the airlines do not give the city break market time to establish itself.
One day Ryanair, Jet2, Flybe and Easyjet might realise that all Geordies don't want to turn into lobsters and sit and eat chips on the Costas.
