Don't the various SOP's have to be predicated on that fundamental concept?
Seems to me that "giving" control could be asking for trouble unless it's a three part deal -- e.g., "
Please take the airplane... I have the airplane...
your airplane".
(Recall the
KJFK L-1011 crash where the transfer of control was initiated by the FO....?)
