Only my opinion, but i thought that when completing the MCC, it could go someway to helping in getting that elusive first position. I did mine at EFT on the L1011. It was great, and i got a very good report, but the reality is it's just a tick in the box that you need to have. With hindsight i would have done the cheapest i could find. I would say the only benefit was i got some jet sim handling time.
I kept in touch with 12 guys who i met at various points during my training. We were all modular, and all second career guys. All of us took very different paths. All of us now fly jets, so i firmly believe if you keep motivated you will get there.
