Aeronut - The Locking RADAR by 3T block was the T101 before it moved to Cosford. Predating that, by some years, was the "nodding horror" or ANFPS6 which we used to point at the TCs in 1T block. Well we had to do something to restrict their uncontrolled spread.
Spekesoftly - (Strange spelling, L24 perhaps?) I had a mate with the same car, same timeframe, based at Troodos whose engine would not just cough but actually cut out. It was a 30mph limit IIRC and he had to do nearer 40 to coast through it. He was pulled by the speed police and gave them a demo but they were still considering doing him when the turks invaded and it all got forgotten about. Every cloud etc but it meant that there was no follow up with SAAB to identify the cause.
