Many years ago when JV picked up the contract it was understood that the company [then Veritair] was the favoured 'Welsh' operator of the local authority owned Cardiff Heliport.
One rebuild of the facilities later JV/BIH maintain that position although the greatly expanded place is clearly designed to be used by many operators not just BIH.
So although Cardiff HP is not a BIH facility their hold on the property is enough to ensure that other operators [in this case BASL] decide to go elsewhere and build a new facility at an RAF station over which they have greater control and at which they can have 'hands on' the fuel and building prices.
Will this make a difference if the penny drops in City Hall Cardiff?
