It's the old one about Shamus and Paddy on their way to a new airport in their Aer Lingus A320. Shamus says "Roight Paddy, it's a very short strip, oi'll do the stick and the brakes and you do ta throttle and the flaps". "Roight Shamus" says Paddy "Oi'll be ready - as soon as you put her down oi'll dump the flaps and hit the max reversers.".
In come our heros and in a cloud of dust, smoke and noise come to a screaming halt just at the edge of the grass. "Bejesus" says Paddy "that's the shortest fooking runway I ever seen". "To be sure" replies Shamus, "but it's the fooking widest one".
