Star Air leases 11 Boeing 767 SF

Press release of Nov. 26, 2004:

Star Air leases 11 Boeing 767 cargo aircraft to be delivered over a period of 14 months

Star Air which presently operates Boeing 757-200 Parcel Freighter will replace its entire fleet with larger cargo aircraft of the type Boeing 767-200 Special Freighter.

President of Star Air and Maersk Air, Finn Řelund, regards the replacement of the aircraft fleet as a milestone for Star Air and says: "Star Air was established in 1987 and has developed into a profitable business. The company primarily performs cargo flights for the American parcel distribution company United Parcel Service (UPS). The new cargo aircraft gives Star Air even better possibilities in the future to offer its services to other European customers".

With its main operations base in Cologne Airport (Germany) Star Air performs cargo flights mainly in Europe, and the new aircraft fleet shall contribute to a further development of the company's activities. The aircraft will primarily be engaged in operations for UPS, and in connection with the replacement of the aircraft fleet Star Air has entered into a long-term agreement with UPS regarding cargo flights in Europe.

All aircraft will be leased and operated under Danish aircraft nationality registration. The first two aircraft will be delivered in March respectively April 2005 while the remaining will be delivered successively between September 2005 and May 2006. The Boeing 767-200SF cargo aircraft are converted passenger aircraft capable of carrying 42 tonnes of cargo.

Star Air A/S is a wholly owned subsidiary of Maersk Air A/S and has its headquarter in Copenhagen.
