Meanwhile, over on this side of the pond, one of the unions is holding Air Canada hostage! All unions involved with the airline have agreed to cost-cutting schemes, including pay-cuts, exept for one union. The Canadian Auto Workers, who represent the ticket agents and call center employees, are refusing to give in. Just now we hear that unless we have a deal by tomorrow morning, General Electric Capital is going to pull the plug on our financing, forcing us into liquidation.
That would be the end of Air Canada.
Hope I still have a job tomorrow.
