Can someone please share what’s involved in getting a water competency certificate? What type of swimming activities do you need to demonstrate? Is it difficult to pass?

Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences on this forum, and good luck to everyone on this journey!
The TA team will send you a form for the water competency assessment. You need to contact a pool in your local area and be assessed by a qualified lifeguard. You must be able to swim 50 metres in freestyle, breastroke or sidestroke unaided and tread water for 3 minutes unaided without stopping.

I'm not a good swimmer - so I got a swim coach to help me. I had 4 coaching sessions (one per week) plus I swam nearly every day for about a month at my local pool. I then got a lifeguard to assess me and sign the form.
